Chartwell’s goal in maintaining a CSR program is to earn the trust of our stakeholders by continuing to make ourselves accountable and by continually seeking ways to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve. For everyone at Chartwell, this desire for continuous improvement is part of a shared commitment to Making People’s Lives BETTER. We want to make a difference and with the commitment of our employees, we can.
There are five key areas in which our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) benchmarks both our commitments and progress annually: Resident Experience, Employee Engagement, Corporate Governance, Community Investment and Environmental Stewardship. Chartwell has always believed in supporting charitable causes important to our employees and residents. We approach charitable giving as an opportunity to build and sustain strong community relationships while supporting the needs of seniors.
Over the years, and with the incredible backing of our employees and residents, we have enthusiastically and compassionately supported a number of charitable initiatives at Chartwell including Osteoporosis Canada, The Canadian Diabetes Association and The Alzheimer Society.
We are proud to have donated to these worthy causes, which has helped to raise awareness of these important organizations and their missions, and to support people and families in need.
In addition, individual residences engage in a variety of local charitable initiatives to help support the communities in which we operate.
