As an Activity Aide you will be a part of a dedicated team that positively impacts the lives of the residents. This role will give you the opportunity to encourage socialization and enrich the lives of the residents by implementing creative programs to meet their social, physical, spiritual and emotional needs.
What You Will Do:
Actively engage residents to participate in programs and collaborate with family members on any concerns.
Plan monthly calendars, posters, newsletters, coordinate volunteer activities and implement diverse recreational programs revolving around the six dimensions of wellness.
Document resident participation in activities and report any changes in activity levels.
What You Will Need:
Post-secondary education in recreation, gerontology, social work, and/or demonstrated related experience.
Patience and compassion when engaging with the seniors and appreciating the background and individual needs of the residents.
Must possess a valid Provincial drivers’ license.
Current First Aid Certificate will be an asset.
Candidates must be available to work Days and Weekends.
