Employee Appreciation Week – In addition to recognition throughout the year, our annual Employee Appreciation Week events recognize the dedication and commitment of our employees. Celebrations take place in our residences and corporate offices across the country and include various events to showcase our respect, admiration and appreciation for our employees.
Living our Corporate Values Contest – Each year, residences and our corporate office staff are invited to submit examples of our Corporate Values of RESPECT in practice in the workplace. A wide variety of creative expressions are received each year, from scrap books to videos, poetry and beyond, that truly capture the depth of our employees' commitment to living our RESPECT values. Selected residences and department submissions are recognized and displayed at our Annual Leadership Conference to share these impactful and inspiring examples.
Long Service Awards – We value our employees’ commitment to us and mark their significant milestones through celebratory gift presentations recognizing years of service in five year increments.
People Making a Difference book – Chartwell’s annual People Making a Difference book highlights the remarkable stories of our employees who have contributed, through inspiration and example, to their jobs, their residents, their families and their communities. To date, over 125 Chartwell employees and volunteers from across Canada have been recognized by their peers for efforts that exemplify Chartwell’s commitment to Making People’s Lives Better and our RESPECT values.

Circle of Excellence Awards – These prestigious annual awards recognize exceptional achievement and commitment. In addition to awards recognizing the achievement of key corporate results, there are a variety of categories that include performance, innovation, service excellence and leadership.
Service Hero Awards – We invite colleagues, residents and family members to nominate an employee in each residence who has sought out ways to enhance the lives of our residents. These awards celebrate our commitment to Service Excellence and exceptional customer service in our residences.
Town Hall Recognition – Our semi-annual Town Halls always include individual and team recognition of extraordinary successes or accomplishments that make life better for our residents and their families, our colleagues and our communities.
